Geo Debate 2-US Energy Policy
On 13/01/2012 we had a debate on whether transitioning to renewable energy resources, was the best way to reduce dependence on fossil fuels for the U.S.A.
There were good arguments and points posed by both sides; the side for argued that there was a large need for change, and large untapped potential as well as willingness for it to be accepted. They suggested a large number of alternatives and the other side countered back with their responses and analysis of the international situation and how the current methods have proved to be ineffective. Another concept that underlined by James is that the other side could have additionally focused on other alternatives that could possibly be even more effective, and domestic changes could be suggested.
Overall it was a very interesting and stimulating debate and it gives us a sense of the arguments posed in today’s world and the perspectives of the different groups involved.
